Well, I can't say I've ever heard Him. [Even if, just for a second, as she was dying, Marcus's voice was pretty damned close to it. Her expression flickers between sorrow and the strength that has kept her going.]
Could be that He's stopped talking in ways we can understand. I hope He's still listening somewhere. It's a dark and lonely path through the stars if he's not.
