I can't give this body up. Not now, and not to these men, and not for these purposes. Though I see that I'm not the only one with this mistake - perhaps some sort of port torture, I think, that has given me this threat and stricken me of all but the barest essence of my grace.

If there is any sort of team involved in fighting in this dimension, I'm interested, though I admit I'm not very effective without my strength.

Are you on this world? Is Dean here? Is he safe? Please tell me you know. Be careful. I can't protect you like I am. And I'm afraid of what he'll ask if I protect him.

Under usual circumstances, I'm powerful enough that physical blows from most beings don't harm me. The last time I was like this, I was... severely stunned by the first blow, and I wondered if maybe you could get that out of the way.

[Stildyne pauses, trying to re-parse that in any way that doesn't work out to-]

You want me to hit you?

That's correct.

[Stildyne stares for another long moment, shrugs, and then gives the angel a ringing slap across the face.]

That sufficient?

[It stings through him, hot and painful, stunning him still again. He reaches up to touch the maligned cheek, catching his breath slightly.]

Yes. Thank you.

[Stildyne shakes his head, deeply bemused.]

Glad to be of service. I think?

...I saw a drug dealer the next street down. If this place is much like any other he'll know where folk buy and sell weapons.

[He opens his mouth to say something. Then he closes it and sets his jaw.]

That's wise. Let's do that.

Which part of it don't you like, out of curiosity.

[Said as Stildyne starts a quick walk towards the street in question.]

Besides all of it, because this is one hell of a place to be stuck.

Our actions specifically; might as well voice your objection, I won't be offended.

I don't like dealing with a man who's made it his occupation to take advantage of the weak, disadvantaged and helpless in any positive manner; he'll likely ask for money for this information and it disgusts me to give it to him. To do so means we become accessories to his abuse of his own people.

We can locate a fence on our own; it'll take a while though, and both of us are walking marked.

It's a semi-necessary evil. If you like, I can threaten him instead of paying him

I agree that going through someone who knows this place is our best option. Perhaps they may even know the best way to hide from these collectors as well.

[A pause.]

I'm....not unfamiliar with interrogation, myself, if that's an option you're willing to consider.

No. [It's a sharp syllable. To Stildyne, interrogation is a loaded concept. Even before it branches into full Inquisition, it enters territory that's become unpleasant for him, by simple virtue of knowing how much it can hurt the man holding the whip or other implement.]

I'll bull it out of them. As for a hiding place, we don't want it; these folk would sell us for pennies, we can't trust anywhere they'd send us.

[Castiel blinks at the sudden sharpness of his voice, not expecting the sudden tick. His head tilts in an unspoken question, though he doesn't ask. It's curious, especially when Castiel considers bullying and interrogating especially the same thing, just bullying is usually children.]

If you insist.

[They can hammer out the vocabulary difference later, the context under which one asks questions and the extent to which the asking goes. Now, they're approaching the Zydrate dealer.

Whose opening gambit, to Stildyne, is 'You look like a man who likes a knife.']

[It's a technical matter really. Either way, Castiel really wishes he had his wings and all the associated powers right now. Those are good for cowing humans. He just lingers behind Stildyne and looks annoyed

[There is an initial grab for cash, once Stildyne's made it clear what they're after. But surprisingly, the dealer folds quickly when Stildyne shifts his woolen greatcoat to show the contact rifle hanging over his shoulder.

Then again the populace doesn't seem very well armed; military issue gear might make the man think he's got ties with Geneco. They're directed two streets over and given a phrase to ask for-- and Stildyne gives the man a warm smile.

Stildyne's smiles have made battle-hardened warriors recoil, so there's that.]

[Castiel is a soldier, or was - he doesn't know anymore - but he's certainly familiar with the expression. And he follows, quiet but threatening, his eyes dark in the smog.]

[They make a decent brute squad; Stildyne tall and ugly, Castiel only comparatively smaller but quietly menacing. Their money combined only barely buys a knife-- and that after Stildyne has to gently dissuade the man from haggling , with a hand on his rifle again.

But at least now there's a weapon.]

[He doesn't have the weight of his usual blade, of course, and none of the power, but it'll do for now. He wraps his hand around the leather hilt and clenches his fist. He could do worse, that's for sure.]
